It is a dream of every Malaysian student to enter the prestigious school of Mara Junior Science College, or better known as MRSM. Throughout the years, thousands of students from MRSM schools have been receiving straight A’s for PMR and SPM examinations. Due to its consistent academic achievements, it’s a no surprise for MRSM to receive thousands of applications of aspiring students from all over nation.
MRSM Tun Ghafar Baba, Melaka
Formerly known as MRSM Jasin, this MRSM is an elite school! MRSM Tun Ghafar Baba has been on the top 3 ranking for the last three years without failing. This year — to nobody’s surprise —is another great year for this MRSM as it has once again achieved the top spot ranking for the best MRSM in Malaysia for SPM 2013. A total of 228 students, out of 442 students, have impressively attained straight A’s for all subjects and this amount is more than half of the SPM candidates in the school! With a GPM of 1.1329, MRSM Tun Ghafar Baba remained on top, defeating the other 48 MRSM schools in Malaysia.
MRSM Taiping, Perak
MRSM Taiping is another best player amongst the MRSM schools. For SPM 2013, MRSM Taiping ranked second in the list of 10 best MRSM in Malaysia. A total of 175 students from MRSM Taiping have successfully received an A for all subjects. As the second best MRSM in Malaysia, this school is the main competitor of MRSM Tun Ghafar Baba for every single year. Perhaps, with a little bit more effort from the principal, teachers and students in MRSM Taiping, it will not be impossible for this school to finally defeat MRSM Tun Ghafar Baba and earn the top spot, respectfully, in the next years to come.
MRSM Pengkalan Chepa, Kelantan
As the third best MRSM in Malaysia, MRSM Pengkalan Chepa has also been showing a great track record for the past few years. Located in the east side of Malaysia, in the state of Kelantan, this MRSM is the second oldest MRSM after MRSM Seremban in Malaysia. For SPM 2013, MRSM Pengkalan Chepa has collected a GPM of 1.1975 and this grade has placed MRSM Pengkalan Chepa in the third spot for the ranking of 10 best MRSM in Malaysia.
MRSM Tun Dr. Ismail (Pontian), Johor
MRSM Tun Dr. Ismail (Pontian) is relatively new compared to the other top MRSM in Malaysia. Officially opened and accepted the first 30 students in February 2002, this school has slowly soared to the top throughout the years. With a hard word and full dedication of the teachers and students, MRSM Pontian had managed to secure the fourth place in the ranking of the 10 best MRSM in Malaysia. For SPM last year, MRSM Tun Dr. Ismail has attained a GPM point of 1.4476.
MRSM Pasir Salak, Perak
MRSM Pasir Salak is the second MRSM in the state of Perak that has managed to earn a place in the ranking of the 10 best MRSM in Malaysia. Previously ranked at the 10th place for SPM 2012, this new ranking is definitely a good improvement made by this school. MRSM Pasir Salak has managed to receive a GPM of 1.7153 for SPM 2013 and earned the sixth spot in the ranking list this year.
